This morning the temperature was 62.3 degrees. The temperature rose in the afternoon by 13.9 degrees and then dipped down another 21.5 degrees by the end of the day. What is the temperature at the end of the day?

You are just taking plus and minus numbers.
You start at 62.3
You go up 13.9
Then you go down - 21.5 

End temperature = 62.3 + 13.9 - 21.5
Edm temperature = 54.7  <<<<< answer
