What is the inverse of y = 3x + 9?

to find the inverse, you flip the x and y and solve for the new y
x = 3y + 9
subtract 9 from both sides
3y = x - 9
divide through by 3
y = (1/3)x - 3
therefore your inverse equation is
y = (1/3)x - 3
