This is because mRNA is a single stranded RNA molecule which is produced from the process of transcription and it's compliment one of the strand of DNA gene. They are made in the nucleus and later moved to the cell cytoplasm where translation occur. The RNA molecule is decided by RIBOSOMES during protein synthesis and it match amino acids to codons.
