you have: 12x+4y=24
To find the slope..you must first re-write in y=mx+b form-->>Where m is the slope...
12x+4y=24
12x+4y=24
-12x -12x
4y=-12x+24
Now simply divide by 4-->>>
4y=-12x+24
[tex] \frac{4y}{4} = \frac{-12x+24}{4} [/tex]
y=-3x+6
As we can see the slope is
-3(x)-->>
