18 years have passed, and Alice Hoagland is speaking to kids at North Central Junior High School about her late son Mark Bingham, who was thought to be one of the heroes of Flight 93 on 9/11.
Even after 70 lectures and innumerable media interviews over the years, her eyes still well up with tears as she recounts the incident. Even though the incident occurred five years before most of these pupils were born, she saw that the students still shed tears.
I took them on a tour of Mark Bingham's life," she remarked. He developed from a shy, overweight child into a towering rugby player with the stamina to take on a true foe in the cockpit of an airplane.
